BWPPA season begins with Players Championship

I began my BWPPA season in Aylesbury on 8/9th April in the GNO Players Championship, held at the Wheelchair Cuesports Academy. My first match of the year was against Londoner Nick Oliver. I missed too many important balls and I lost 7-1.

In the one loss bracket I played Dave Beaumont from Stoke On Trent. I made about 4 mistakes in the match, Dave showed why he’s a former UK 8-ball World Champion, I lost 7-2.

Into the Players Challenge Cup sponsored by World Pool Series and I played Birmingham’s Roy Kimberley in the quarter-finals. I began the match 2-0 up, and I won the first rack to extend my lead to 3-0.

Similar to my game against Nick Oliver the day before I missed too many important shots and in the end I lost 5-3.

On reflection it was a disappointing start to the season, but there’s still 4 tournaments to go on the BWPPA tour. Time to prepare for the BWPPA Simonis Grand Prix at Escape Pool Bar in Barnsley on 20/21 May.

Thanks to all of my supporters

Cheers Matt X
